   $65,686.40 - $101,774.40 Annually

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Environmental Engineering, or a field related to the work and four years of administrative or management support experience, two (2) years of which include supervisory experience, preferably in a wastewater setting. Equivalent combination of formal education and appropriate related experience may be considered. Preference may be given for applicants possessing a Grade IV Wastewater Treatment Plant certification 

Working Conditions: Work with exposure to hazardous chemicals and substances found in wastewater and water treatment processes. Attend meetings and functions outside of normal working hours. 

Licensing and Certification: Must possess a valid Nevada Class C Driver's License at time of appointment. Certification in area of assignment may be required. 

Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Plans, organizes, manages and reviews plant process control activities through subordinate supervisors and lead staff. Coordinates activities and services with those of other offices, divisions, District departments and outside agencies to meet the needs, goals and objectives of the unit; assists in setting such goals and objectives. Develops and implements procedures for and directs administrative activities such as personnel selection, financial activity, records management and storage, information technology, clerical processing, and related activities. Researches operational and administrative problems, evaluates alternatives, recommends solutions, and implements adopted changes. Performs significant technical support and/or coordinative work for the Department, normally with department-wide implications. Provides assistance to the operational manager by handling special projects and/or administrative assignments; assists in the development of departmental strategic plan, annual report and/or other department related data. Supervises and reviews the work of subordinate supervisory and office support staff; trains staff in specific departmental and unit policies and procedures. Evaluates employee performance and effectively recommends employee selection, initial disciplinary action and other personnel activities. Answers inquiries, provides information and resolves complaints from regulatory agencies, other District and County staff, and the public regarding assigned functions and activities, which often requires the use of judgment and the interpretation of policies, rules and procedures. Compiles operational, budget and other statistical data and information, maintains various records, and prepares special and periodic reports. Contributes to the overall quality of the unit's service provision by developing and coordinating work teams and by reviewing, recommending and implementing improved policies and procedures. Operates a variety of standard office equipment, including a computer, in the course of the work; may drive a personal or District motor vehicle in order to attend meetings and visit work sites.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

Mobility to work in an industrial setting and use standard office equipment; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Must be capable of traveling to and from various work locations on a frequent basis to attend meetings and perform other job related functions.
